The most dangerous cities in the world. There’s plenty of them, but what ones are worth travelling to? In this list are the top 5 most dangerous cities or places that you should check out if you like to dance with danger.
5. Yungus Road, Bolivia
Yungus Road isn’t a city, but we had to put it in the list because of its precarious nature. NicknamedDeath Road, itis an infamous road very close to La Paz, Bolivia, that has claimed the lives of countless people.The most dangerous part about Yungus Roadis the entire thing. The road is cut into a steep hillside, the tracks are muddy and slippery, and the road is but a single lane with no safety railing. Check out the video of an unfortunate bus driver that lost his life trying to cross a sketchy section.
Yungus Road is a cool place to check out becauseit offers some of the best and most picturesque mountainbiking in the world. The ride stretches forty something kilometers with very little uphill sections. If you’re a golfer, the nearby city La Paz has the highest grass golf course in the world with a par three hole called ‘The Moon Hole’, it’s voted one of the most exotic holes in the world.
4. Nairobi, Kenya
The most dangerous part of Nairobi isthe traffic. Not only have you got cars, trucks and buses that commandeer the roads with chaos fuelled mania, but you have the further unpredictability of killer wildlife thrown into the mix. You have to dodge cars and the lions and probably a couple rhinos too. Statistically, traffic (cars, buses) is the largest cause of injuries and fatalities to tourists each year. It’s also rife with muggings, carjackings and kidnappings. Definitely one of those don’t go out after darkcities.
Why visit? Nairobi is a perfect vantage point for going on Kenyan safaris. There’s an in city safari that looks like the tits with giraffes cruising through old buildings. It’s an awesome juxtaposition. Nairobi is also home to Kibera, the world’s largest slum. So depending on how you feel about slums and peeking into the lives of the much less fortunate, that could be for you. You sicko.

It’s so dangerous because of the high murder rate per capita, the level of drug trafficking and the inherent danger it creates in the surrounding environment. In 2012Caracas was listed as the world’s third most dangerous city, of course the list always varies depending on who is writing it, but Caracas is consistently in the top 10. The government covers up much of the killings and murders to prevent the city’s image from deteriorating much further. Highly effective move right there.
As the capital of Venezuela,Caracas has plenty of attractions for your culture seeking punter. The city was dubbed as theParis of South America, which I’m still not too sure what that means – they’re arrogant, eat snails and refuse to speak English? Given, Caracas does have burgeoning food and nightlife cultures, and is jam-packed with abundant hiking opportunities. Sounds pretty good right? Right.

It’s so dangerous becausethe city is stuck in the midst of a drug trade and trafficking stronghold. Corruption runs rife with kidnappings and extortionists operating with absolute impunity. If you’re caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, consider yourself a goner.
It’s worth checking out becauseit’s a throwback to a rich and original Mexican cowboy culture. It’s so far off the beaten track that you’ll get the best cultural experiences. Forget about sitting back sipping on Pina Coladas at the beach in a swarm of tourists and lazily in your comfort zone, go to Ciudad Juarez and force feed yourself shots of culture that will be stronger than any tequila you’ll find in Mexico.
