Lagos - The attacks South Africans are perpetrating against
foreign nationals is a pointer that South Africa has not fully
appreciated the enormous sacrifice Nigeria made towards the
emancipation of South Africa, the Actors Guild of Nigeria said.
The organisation said this as it condemned the violence that has
been internationally condemned.
“Consequent upon resolutions unanimously agreed by a vast
majority of our congress which held at Eko Hotel and Suite, we
wish to condemn in strong terms the xenophobic attacks on
Africans in general and Nigerians in particular in South Africa. We
wish to recall that for the umpteenth time our citizens have
been subjected to unpleasant conditions in South Africa without a
reprisal response to their citizens in our country,” AGN National
Public Relations Officer, Mcsmith Ochendo.
He argued South Africa had enjoyed humongous economic boom
via such indigenous companies in Nigeria like MTN, DSTV and
Shoprite.
