Ndudi Ogwu a 22 year old ND II mechanical engineering
student of the Delta State Polytechnic Ogwahi-uku has
been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment with hard
labour for kidnapping a nurse.
Ndudi was sentenced alongside one Chukwudi Ifemeni, a
22 years old businessman to 10 years imprisonment each
on the count of kidnapping and 4 years for conspiracy.
According to the prosecution, Ndudi and Chukwudi
Ifemeni with two others now at large on 13th September,
2012 kidnapped one Mrs. Kate Okogu, wife to one
Honourable Paul Okogu at ughelli while she was returning
home and took her to a forest along Isoko-Patani Road
where she was kept as a captive.
She was later rescued by a Patrol team of the JTF led by
one Sergent Austin Osudibia the next day.
Ndudi Ogwu was arrested at the scene as he was the one
assigned to look after the victim. The confession by Ndudi
led to the arrest of Chukwudi Ifemeni. They agreed to
committing the crime in their confessions but denied it
during the trial.
