CA Bastia midfielder Sunday Mbamay have jettisoned his hope of playing
at the World Cup after failure to turn-up at the Super Eagles camp in
London.
The 25-year-old AFCON 2013 final winning goal scorer was given until
Tuesday, May 27th as deadline to report to camp, but failed to show up
after twenty-four hours owing to travel hitches from France.
The Super Eagles pair of Mba and Nnamdi Oduam*di were earlier reported
absent from camp on Monday, but the on-loan AC Milan forward arrived
before the Tuesday deadline given by coach Stephen Keshi.
The media officer of the Super Eagles, Ben Alaiya has confirmed that Mba
was yet to join the team on Wednesday evening and may have crashed his
World Cup dream.
"We are at the stadium now (Wednesday), and Mba is not with us. It is fair
to say that his World Cup hopes are over," Alaiya said.
Nigeria played out a 2-2 draw with Scotland in an international friendly at
Craven Cottage on Wednesday.
