Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas is keen to move
to Manchester United.
The Daily Mail says Fabregas has told friends in
English football that he wants to quit Barcelona for
Manchester United.
The Spanish midfielder is the subject of a fierce
battle between United and Barcelona, with the
Barclays Premier League champions having had a bid
in excess of £30million turned down.
United manager David Moyes on Thursday told a
press conference in Japan that the club’s pursuit of
the former Arsenal star was ‘ongoing’ and it is
understood that another bid is imminent.
But the fact that Fabregas has told friends in England
that he wants out of the Nou Camp could finally give
United the impetus they need.

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has
completed his £34.5m move to Napoli.
The Argentina international, 25, has been heavily
linked with Arsenal this summer, but has signed a
reported five-year contract with the Serie A club.
A statement on Napoli's website said: "Napoli have
made the signing of Gonzalo Higuain official."
Liverpool's 30-year-old goalkeeper Pepe Reina has
also passed a medical as he prepares to link up with
former Reds boss Rafael Benitez at Napoli on loan.
Benitez has been looking to replace Edinson Cavani,
who has joined Paris St-Germain.
He said: "We have signed a player who comes from
Real Madrid and we have signed a striker who has
scored a hatful of goals and who will adapt very well
to our system - an attacking system. We needed a
player like this.
"We are all working together to ensure the players
we want arrive. We have to sign players who will do
well for Napoli for the next three or four years."
Higuain joined Real from River Plate in 2006 and
scored 107 league goals in his seven seasons at the
Bernabeu.
Napoli, last season's Serie A runners-up, have already
signed Real Madrid striker Jose Callejon and defender
Raul Albiol, in addition to winger Dries Mertens from
PSV Eindhoven, this summer.
"Players who come from clubs like Real, PSV and
Liverpool can only do us good," Benitez said. "For
Napoli these signings represent a quantum leap."

The Blues boss is adamant that there would be no need to offload
players to balance the budget should he sign the Manchester United
star, despite having bought already this summer
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says that the club would not have to
offload any current players in order to sign Manchester United star
Wayne Rooney.
The Londoners are expected to make a
renewed bid for the England striker
after the Red Devils turned down their
opening offer, despite the disgruntled
forward being "hell bent" to leave Old
Trafford, as exclusively revealed by
Goal.
"The club are working hard to keep the
numbers in balance but we can still
invest in a player who costs £20
million, £25m, £30m and not break the
balance," Mourinho told the press. "We
don't need to sell to do that."
Asked if he could spend £50m on a
striker, he added: "The striker I want
doesn't cost £50m."
The Blues boss declared on Thursday that he was "calm" about his
pursuit of the United forward, with a sizeable stable of strikers at his
disposal should the move not materialise.
Red Devils legend Paul Scholes, however, argues that it would be best
for Rooney to stay put.
Mourinho has already added the likes of Andre Schurrle and Marco van
Ginkel to his Chelsea squad this summer, with the England international
his only remaining target.
